*Sigh* Already time to leave Islay. And so many more distilleries to visit. And Mrs A was talking about some chocolate place too. Couldn’t find it this time around. Better luck next time – and there will be a next time :).

Back to Port Askaig for the ferry out. The second longest ferry of the trip at around 4 hours. Oban via Colonsay.

The terminal here is pretty big as the Jura ferry goes from here too. And we had a bit of a wait but the weather was cracking and the view did the job 😉

Over to Jura

First stop Colonsay and the first time I’d actually been on the ferry when it was docking. Usually we are already down below waiting for the doors to drop.

I think you need permission to land a vehicle here. And seeing the road out I could understand why. And now having watched the other cars come on I realised that not all ferries involve you driving on one end and off the other. These guys have to drive around inside to get back out again. At least there’s plenty of room. If you’re not tall that is!

The crossing was smooth and the delay docking in Oban wasn’t a problem. Gave me plenty of time to get the camera out.
